Max Cleland, who knows a thing or two about “the troops,” sticks it to Dick Cheney in this rather humorous (for me, anyway) video.
“Where the hell were you in the Vietnam War? If you had gone to Vietnam like the rest of us, maybe you would have learned something about war. You can’t keep troops on the ground forever. You gotta have a mission. You gotta have a purpose. You can’t keep sending ‘em back and back and back with no mission and no purpose. As a matter of fact, the real enemy is Al Qaeda, it’s Al Qaeda stupid, it’s not in Iraq.”

Makes me wonder, really, what’s the deal with this story. I mean, the guy is admitting to being the 9/11 mastermind. It’s in his best interest as a muslim to become a martyr for islam. So even if he did do it, or didn’t do it, he’s going to be revered for it. Do they think by his admission of this, that Americans are going to rest easy? The reason why they are so capable of doing what they do is because they are NOT unified. I think this all is a Red Herring to put us off their scent, and lull us into a false sense of security, as if him being guilty of masterminding anything actually amounts to anything.
Whoah!
Nice tangent, eh?
