This show walks a fine line between kick-ass music and infomercial. But is it my fault I’m proud of the New Insomnia Radio Network and wanted to chat it up? If you’re reading this, the Network in question has just been launched. Oh, yeah! All my hours and hours of work and ignoring my site have led up to this. Be sure to check out the site and all of the new content. And be sure to sign up on the Message Boards.
Unfortunately, I’ll be spending the launch in Lansing at a conference for work, so I will miss out on all the first-day feedback. Oh well. If I didn’t have that job, I wouldn’t be able to do this one.
Here are the show-notes and shout-outs. Hope you enjoy the show.
Cruiserweight: Operation Eyes Closed
This song is off of the excellent, excellent Sweet Weaponry album. Unfortunately, it’s sold out on their website, but you can get it at their label’s site. Thanks to Scoobs for sending me their way.
Looker: Hey Kids
Great tune from the On the Pull Album. Thanks to 15 megs of Fame for introducing me to this great band.
Dead Girls Corp: Friends Come and Go
Off the I Like Daisies Album. Shades of Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails while not at all derivitave.
Monotypes: Lose it all
No Website on these guys yet, but that doesn’t mean they don’t kick serious ass. You can visit Hijack Records, though, where they should have a web presence soon enough.
Their self-titled EP is on Itunes (and no where else, unfortunately)…..
New London Fire: Different and I believe in Ghosts
Man. These guys are sooooo good. My favorite band of the moment. In anticipation of their upcoming album, they’ve released a 5 track ep on their site for FREE. So what the hell are you waiting for? GO GET IT.
Five Star Iris: Day in the Sun
Great tune from their Self-titled ep. You’d be well served to check these guys out.
Note to Self: Should Be Storming
Let’s hear it for my fellow Michiganders! Great band that I will be featuring again (when I get around to my MI-themed show).
Baily: Undecided
Unfortunately, Baily has no album that I am aware of. But, you can hear their music at myspace. And, you can see them in the Indiegrrl tour in Berkely CA..If you live there or want to fly or drive or take some sort of tube technology there.
