The University of Pennsylvania, which I once thought a decent school, has created robots that can work together. Great. First we give them brains, then we give them teamwork. Next up? Human Killing. Once science started down the path of artificial intelligence and robotics, the doom of mankind was written on the wall. At some point, the apocalyptic future foretold of in movies like “Terminator” will very likely come to pass.
Within the next 10 years, I am certain that Artificial Intelligence will have advanced to the point that robots will exist who think that they are alive. Maybe fewer than ten years, as fast as technology is zipping along these days. Robots who think and feel. Does it matter that a robot was programmed to think and feel, as long as it does? Will the electronic impulses coursing over the robot’s brain be any different that the electronic impulses that control our own brains? When you create a creature that can think for itself, that is smarter and faster than man, that doesn’t require air or food, what do you think will happen? I doubt they’ll be happy as our slaves. Would you?

Hot Nikks
Science fiction holds so many models for human domination by robots. there’s the terminator time travel model, lots of death and suffering. There’s the Matrix highly symbolic mindfuck w/human batteries model. I prefer the Dune model myself. sure machines dominated for 100’s or 1000’s of years, but eventually they were overthrown and things were really cool after that. Give me my spice, bitch!!
